Standard box templates are templates that are used to mark pages according to specific conditions, eg to warn users that a page is subject to speedy deletion, or to denote a user sandbox page.

You are encouraged to include these templates on appropriate content pages, including pages in your own user space.

List of standard box templates

Template:Tag - standardised box (and content) for tagging a page, article or section

List of disgraced former standard box templates

A number of former templates were deleted in the Great Reorganisation of 2017.

Template:ToDo still exists, but simply redirects to Template:Tag with tag type todo. The argument period, which used to be one of year, month or none, is ignored.

Template:User sandbox no longer exists. Instead of {{User sandbox}}, use {{Tag|user}}.

Template:StdBox and Template:StdMsg have been completely superseded by Template:Tag. Instead of {{StdBox|type=FOO|message=BAR}}, use {{Tag|FOO}} (the message is now created automagically along with the icon and heading).
